Sabir Ali

Sabir Ali (born 1981, Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh) is a contemporary Indian artist known for his evocative figurative paintings that engage with themes of identity, displacement, and social realities. He studied painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, where his academic training helped shape a strong foundation in drawing and composition. His experiences growing up in a rural environment and later navigating urban life have deeply informed his visual narratives. Ali’s works are characterised by muted palettes, textured surfaces, and carefully constructed spatial settings.
